Role Summary

The Mechanical Design Validation (MDV) Engineer enables early-phase design confidence by validating mechanical behavior through focused physical testing and hypothesis-driven experimentation. This role is responsible for translating real-world use scenarios into validation strategies, generating high-quality data and insights, and closing the loop with PDSA (Product Design Simulation and Analysis) teams through correlation and calibration. The outcome is faster learning, reduced design risk, and more predictable product performance well before late-stage verification.

Responsibilities

  • Define early validation plans by working backward from customer use scenarios, installation conditions, and key design questions (concept/feasibility stage).
  • Execute focused mechanical experiments to characterize margins, sensitivities, and failure mechanisms; deliver actionable recommendations to the design team.
  • Build and maintain test methods and setups (fixtures, instrumentation, data pipeline) that enable repeatable, decision-quality measurements; own measurement quality (R&R where applicable).
  • Partner closely with PDSA simulation teams to correlate test results with structural/thermal models, align assumptions and boundary conditions, and improve predictive accuracy.
  • Drive root-cause analysis when results deviate from expectations; translate findings into design changes and updated test/model assumptions.
  • Develop reusable validation assets (standard methods, fixtures, checklists, test reports/templates) to improve cycle time and scalability across programs.
  • Coordinate with internal labs and external vendors as needed to ensure test execution is on-time, high-quality, and well-documented.

Requirement

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical quality / reliability / validation engineering, with hands-on ownership of outdoor product testing and MIL-STD–based testing.
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals across materials, structural integrity, and mechanical strength.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills—able to move from symptoms to root cause and drive clear, actionable improvements that protect the customer experience.
  • Working knowledge of reliability test standards, including test intent, method selection, and pass/fail criteria.
  • Ability to plan and execute tests end-to-end, including fixture concept/design, setup, and disciplined documentation.
  • Clear, effective communicator who collaborates well with cross-functional partners and external test labs to deliver results on schedule and with quality.
  • Self-driven and proactive; stays current on evolving standards, regulations, and test methods, and applies them with good engineering judgment.
  • Professional English communication skills (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience validating outdoor or high-reliability products (temperature/humidity cycling, UV exposure, corrosion, ingress protection, drop/shock/vibration).
  • Experience with simulation correlation (working with PDSA teams to align boundary conditions, assumptions, and results).
  • DOE / controlled experiments and measurement system assessment (R&R).
  • Experience building reusable validation methods, fixtures, and documentation adopted across programs.

Benefits

  • International work environment and collaboration with global development teams
  • Excellent work conditions
  • Competitive package: great pay, perks, and benefits
  • Group insurance and health coverage
  • Flexible working hours and patterns
  • Complimentary drinks and snacks at the office
